Now why on earth would anyone want to write the NVRAM every time they
initialize the modem!?!? Remember, these things are only good for a few
thousand writes, and subtracting one from its life every time you reset
the modem seems a bit stupid.

Please justify your suggestion -- I'm a bit nervous about the rest of the
suggestions you've made now....
