Of course not. If supporting people with modems that old is a major
concern, then the PM-3 is not the box to use. It doesn't do it, and
we've never claimed that it would. The spec sheet clearly states what
we support.

It should be fine - of course, no error checking isn't a good thing, but
it shouldn't prevent a connection. And there is no requirement to do
either.
