Short Name: micro
Long Name: deskport fast
Optimal Speed: 115200
Type: User Defined

Init Script: Send Command Wait for Reply

We use the Deskporte Fast RackMount modems from Microcom mounted
in the QX Chasis. Here is the procedure that we use with great success to
configure the modem and leave it alone.

1. Setup a modem table with the following Init String..
AT&F&C1%C3&D3\\N3Q2\\Q3X4S0=1S2=0\$B115200E1&T5\\J0%U1*W*W1

2. Reset the modem until the port shows "Configured" on the portmaster

3. Flip dip-switch 7 over to the right (All others left). This disables the
AT command set on the modem so further AT configuration is not
possible. It also has the benefit of disabling the "Auto-Baud"
function on the modem which matches the DTE speed on the modem.

4. Set the port to 115200 and away you go. From this point on, if a modem
decides to "flake" and not generate a carrier, you simply need to
unplug it from the rack and plug it back in to reset it to it's NVram
defaults.
