Yes well this is only the second PRI type of unit that we have installed
(the first being a MAX). When calling our MAX the phone does ring, then
you get a modem. With the Livingston it does not. I have come to find out
that the ring is actually being made by the MAX, or in your case, the PM3.
The telco calls it RINGBACK, and at this point I am not sure if the PM3
supports it or not. Hence you get an answer before you get a ring.

P.S. My modem trouble seems to be a bad board. I gotta tell you I am
almost batting 100. Out of 5 PM2E's and a PM3, I've had to RMA almost
everything on first delivery except our IRX-114. Nota very good track
record for Livingston.
