Any command to modify a modem in the modem table

I know how to add a modem to the table. How can I see the modem init srtring
asociated with a modem, and possible modify the string.

I'm planning to add M0 to the usr courier modem as some of my modems squawk!

So far, the only way I see is to add the modem again - but there is never a
display of the string, so you never know if you did it right.
