Once upon a time Jake shaped the electrons to say...
>Okay is there ANY way I can use BRI's to bring in a line that could be use
>d for analog OR digital connections?

Not from Livingston at this time. You can use an external modem, like a
USR Courier I-modem, but nothing built in. The only integrated box we
have is the PM-3.

>I was thinking of the 5 bri card, but this would be isdn to isdn ONLY
>right? What if I wanted to make it so that if the call was analog, it

Right.

>2 POTS on them. I would connect analog modems to the pots. When a digital
>call comes in, the pipe just handles it. When an analog call comes in, it
>would pass it off to one or the other of the pots, which has a modem on it
>so it would answer the line, right?

You'd need two phone numbers if you also want to handle data-over-voice
ISDN calls.

>3. Id get very clean digital connections (maybe use the new usr 576
>standard?)

You still have an analog loop and all its drawbacks with the Pipe and
external modems.

>6. I can put all the BRi's in a hunt group.

This is no different - PRIs can hunt too.

>Okay so cost for EACH digital like is $35 month. Sounds good to me.

What about your analog modem costs too?

>How does this compare to a PM3 and a PRI?

That depends on the pricing from your RBOC.
