Once upon a time Jon Lewis shaped the electrons to say...
>Guide for PortMaster Products". Why does the Guide assume I'm using

The Config guide is a general overview.
The Command Line guide is meant for command line specifics.
The X-Windows PMconsole guide is still pending unfortunately, sorry.

>PMconsole and ComOS commandline? Why can't I do things like "show
>routing" to see what I have routing set to?

You can get picky with things like that. That is too specific a command to
implement. It isn't generally useful.

If you want to know how routing is set on an interface, show the interface
or use 'ifconfig' for a list.

>With routing set to on, will the PM advertise via RIP any connected or
>routed address? i.e.

yes.

>routeme Password = "UNIX"
> User-Service-Type = Framed-User,
> Framed-Protocol = PPP,
> Port-Limit = 2,
> Framed-Route = 192.168.100.0 0.0.0.0 1

That Framed-Route is bogus, you need quotes around the values.

>When routeme connects, will the PM advertise via RIP that it is the
>gateway for 192.168.100.0/24? I'd hate to have to add a static route to

yes.

>Will the PM also advertise assigned addresses? Currently, I have static

Yes, I believe it does.
