What version of ComOS are you using and do you have evidence of a memory
leak? As for the traffic, check the amount of broadcast traffic on
your network. Are you using RIP? Is there a significant amount of
NetBIOS (Microsoft) networking going on in your network? Are you using
switches or hubs?
I'm not aware of any "tweaks" for Livingston products other than proper
setup issues.
