First rule of thumb... GTE is a bunch of wankers... they will wank until
they get gooey nasty stuff in all yer phone hardware..

First real rule of thumb... if a *POTS* line is in proper working order,
it should be able to do 21600 real connect rate...

I ended up diagnosing my lines to a bandwidth problem (ie - freqency
response) problem using a USR Courier V.allthatandabagofchips..
