MegaZone mentioned earlier that there is a Java version of PMconsole in
beta. This would be fantastic as a cross-platform replacement for the
current versions of PMconsole. One codebase to fix problems in, as opposed
to at LEAST two (Win32 and UNIX; is there a Mac or OS/2 version?). MZ, you
mentioned that you'd done a demo recently; is there a chance of an open
beta anytime soon?

However, in the meantime, it would be nice to see a more current build of
Portmaster utilities for Linux, such as PMconsole. 2.0.30 has been sitting
there for a long while, and we've completely migrated over to it, as I'm
sure a lot of others have as well. A new build against current libraries
(hmmm...actually, just slap together a RedHat-4.1 box with all the
upgrades, and you'll have a pretty much current system) would be nice.

Btw, out of curiosity: has an Alpha Linux build been done yet? We're going
to be putting a few Alphas online soonish...:-) How about Sparc Linux? :-)
