PM2, OR, IRX and fractional T1/E1 ?????

Yes, I'm talking about PM2, not PM3!

Look: I was very surprised to notice that all the Livingston datasheets
(http://www.livingston.com/Tech/Docs/index.shtml) for Livingston products
with 2Mbps sync ports (PM2ER, OR-HS, IRX) declare that these devices
support fractional T1/E1.

So, my stupid question is:

1. Is it true?
2. If yes, does it mean that I can group T1/E1 64K timeslots and create
virtual WAN interfaces on PM2ER? How?
