On the PM2er I have static routes defined to the network on the
ether0 side of the node routers. They are subnets with a
255.255.255.248 netmask. I have routing on so RIP will broadcast and
listen. My internet backbone router is a Cisco router. I have
static routes defined on the Cisco so it will know about the networks
on the other side of the frame cloud. The static routes in the Cisco
have the PM2er as the gateway.....so..... it looks something like
this
Cisco x.x.0.1-------x.x.0.51 PM2er x.x.1.1--------x.x.1.2 BAY x.x.2.1
I have defined statis routes in the node routers also. A default
route to 0.0.0.0 through x.x.1.1 (the PM2er) and a route to the
x.x.0.0 network through the x.x.1.1 PM2er.
The problem is that from the Bay router at x.x.2.1 I can not get to
the internet or other nodes on the frame network. I can ping, trace,
and telnet to the PM2er or ANY host on the x.x.0.0 network.
Setting the Cisco 2501's and the Livingston's up as nodes are a piece
of cake, but the Bay.............Does anyone have experience with the
Bay in this situation that might help? Any other PRODUCTIVE
suggestions? :)
