I've made many successful connections between 33.6k Sportsters in my
analog pool into my PM3 on a trunk-side CT1 line. The PM3 is running
ComOS 3.5.1b11. They're even 28.8k+ :)
What dates on the Sportsters? (use "ati" commands).
