Now I have a more difficult question for you all!!
I have a Livingston IRX 211 firewall router. We get our T1 via MCI.=20
Let me start by saying that our Internet connection _appears_ to work =
fine, and has for some time. However, there is one thing that bothers =
me. Whenever I do a "tracert" (from Win95 OR WinNT) to any destination =
outside of our LAN, the first hop always times out. When I take the =
firewall down it has no effect, so I know it has nothing to do with =
that. MCI ran a physical test on our line and everything tested out =
perfect, so they told me that it must have something to do with the =
configuration of my router. I have had Livingston in the IRX before for =
previous problems and they didn't mention that any of the configuration =
may be wrong. MCI also had me double check the configuration of the =
CSU/DSU which checked out fine.
So I guess I want to know what I should look for, or what type of test =
to try to figure out why this is happening. Some of the programmers =
here are having problems because of the timeout.
If you can think of anything... Please help!
