I think these are the 2 MOST important points about the OR/U remote-site
wise. The power switch is already there...
So we just need them to be wall mountable. I have about 9 or 10
installations of p 50's that are WALL mounted in the phone closet next to
the wall mounted 12 or 16 port mini-hubs. Now I have to make a SHELF for
an OR/U? No thanx!
So does the duct tape really work?
Here is my "Jake's special mods" idea:
1. Remove the cover
2. drill 2 holes in the cover
3. screw the cover to the wall with sheetrock anchors and screws
4. slide the unit back onto the cover and replace the 4 feet screws.
Now... does this void the warranty? Probably. Does it make it impossible
to knock off a shelf in the phone room? yes.
Perhaps a LIVINGSTON fix would be a set of clips that mount to the wall
or...
Hey just got a good idea after looking at it more....
Take 4 strips of perforated metal. Remove the OR/U feet, put the 4 strips
under the feet and reattach them so that the 4 strips protrude from either
side of the unit. Screw the unit to the wall using the protruding strips.
Wow, im thmart!
Has anyone else addresed this issue NOT using duct tape?
