Put the CSU/DSU's on cards. This is what I would really like to see and
not even Cisco seems to provide exactly what I would like:
- A router for small customers which has one wan connection and one
ethernet. The OR is basically this already.
- Integrated CSU/DSU - Choice of 56k or Frac-T1 on a card so it can be
upgraded easily.
- A BRI port is a good idea to look into as well
> Who's interested in this? Why? I know why I'd be interested, but I
I am very interested. This allows monitoring and setup of the CSU/DSU
remotely and inband without extra SLIP lines between the CSU/DSU and
router or putting it on the ethernet or giving it another ip address, etc.
It also puts it all together in one nice little box that you can hook an
RJ45 into to the telco and an RJ45 (or BNC/AUI) for the customer's
Ethernet.
