Isn't this the new Transcend 67K modem?
This does require two phone lines. All it is really is two 33.6 modems
connected to a single serial port.
It's fairly expensive. I heard it was $600.

Why not? They can sell a second phone line to everyone who buys one of
these modems.
These modems are still regular 33.6 modems, so they'll still have the
problems of not getting full 33.6 connects, and the latency will still be
high.
Folks who need the guarantee of 64K or need low latency will still buy
ISDN.
