Not generic per se, but the upgrade for the Zoltrix HCF based modems
seem to work on other HCF based ones as well, with the one caveat that
if you have lots of special features in your non-generic HCF based
modem the special features go away.

I used that on the Aztech 3858, which has a; old drivers only available
and b; no voice functionality... and the install worked fine. After the
install I had voice functionality though... except there was no jack for
the voice in/outputs on the modem card still. ;) The "phantom voice
support" didn't seem to do any harm though. This is a hair-raising hack
IMHO but what the hell... now the customer can at least connect and surf,
which he couldn't before!

Anyway, the modem connected at 48000 and seemed to run fine, but that was
from an ultra clean line, that's why I'm wondering if anyone else has
had any luck with these.
