Lots of helpful info given thus far, but I'll just summarize what I've
done:
1) old win95 DUN was broken, it would grab first DNS server but not
second, but we'll ignore this.
2) DNS servers must be set on the PMs
3) disable whatever is not necessary in DUN and network.
quick run down on my over the phone setup.
1) go into DUN
2) double-click on make a new connection
3) put in a name for icon | next
4) put in area-code and phone number | next
5) click finish
6) right mouse click on new connectoid | click on properties
alternate methods file menu | properties or alt+enter
7) take off check mark next to use area code and dialing properties (might
be listed in different wording)
8) go to server types and take off _all_ check marks except for TCP/IP
(granted some gamers might need other protocols, but we leave it to
them to figure it out)
9) by default server assigned name server addresses and server assigned
address is correct
10) go to control panel | internet | connection
11) put a check mark next to connect to the Internet as needed and select
the connectoid (in newer versions it's a bit different, something like
connect through a modem and then go to settings to select connectiod)
that's about it.
