Thanks, James. Your suspicion was correct, it was a problem with the P15.
This was the response I got from Ascend's email support:

I couldn't view ticket #3812 on their Web site myself (I don't own any
Ascend products), so I don't know the exact nature of the problem. If
they provide any further details, I will post them.
