It cannot be in the pool range. You don't say what happens when you do
this so what about it doesn't work? Does he not get authenticated or does
he get a regular IP from the pool or does he get the assigned IP but it
doesn't get routed properly? It seems to me those are the three possible
ways it might not work and all have different answers.
