Correct, the strings are only sent at boot or with each admin 'reset' of the
port. NOT after every call. In fact, when the modem string ability was
added there was a lot of yelling to make sure it didn't do it after every
call - lots of people saying it'd burn out their modems FLASH, etc.
My opinion is that any *good* modem doesn't *NEED* it after every call.
Any modem that routinely loses its settings and needs the NAS to reset them
is not fit for ISP duty. Period.
