I have discover the following behavior which can be very confusing early in
the morning after a long night:

>pm3-5> sho routes 208.24.139.6
>Destination Mask Gateway Source Flag Met Interface
>----------------- ---- -------------------- ------- ---- --- ---------
>208.24.139.64 27 208.21.250.251 ospf/E2 ND 15 ether0

>pm3-5> sho routes 208.24.139.6/30
>Destination Mask Gateway Source Flag Met Interface
>----------------- ---- -------------------- ------- ---- --- ---------
>208.24.139.4 30 208.24.139.5 local NL 1 ptp8

The first command displays all routes that contain the string "208.24.139.6".

The second command displays the route for the network number.

When the first command dis not give the expected results and I spend more
than an hour looking for a routing specification error, I read the manual
on the show route command. There found the command syntax to be:

show routes [String | Prefix/NM]

String Displays only routes that contain the
matching string.

Prefix/NM Displays routes only to the destination
indicated by the IP address prefix Prefix
and the netmask NM.

I can see the benefit on the String search option but it took me by
suprise. So a word to the wise.
