Im not sure what modems you are using, but there may be more optimal
settings, i.e. dont allow mnp, etc...

Framing errors are expected when you first reset the modem, just a few, but
if you get a lot, it is probably a flow control mismatch.
:somehow. It will answer the call, but not do anything. It just sits there.
Attach to the modem, and THEN dial the modem from something else, see if you
see "RING RING" and see if the at&s0 indeed answers the phone and then type
chars on each sessios to see if they are echoed CORRECTLY to the other.
