(PM) OSPF on PM2e and PM25 and memory requirements (fwd)

Once upon a time Dileep Agrawal shaped the electrons to say...
>I am worried about memoery requirements for OSPF. PM2e's have 1048576bytes
>out of which 81180bytes are available. Similarly, the PM25's have only

81K free. No, I would not say that is enough. If you drop below 50K free
you want more RAM, and OSPF will use more than 31K. You may need to add
more RAM. OR, check to see if you have modules you can disable. Disable IPX
for example, SNMP if you aren't using it, etc. That will free up some RAM.

Personally I'd just upgrade to 4MB or RAM. RAM is cheap - and ComOS 3.9 is
coming very soon and I expect you'll need 4MB to use new features. All
new PM-2s and -25s have shipped with 4MB for a couple of years now.

>179864bytes free. Is this sufficient? I am very pleased with the

179K free - this should be enough to run OSPF. But if you are going to
upgrade the PM-2s you might as well get them all.
