what I missed in the documentation to configure that properly.

JoAnn a couple of things...
1) line wrap
2) can you set your OE5 to do straight text instead of html?

As Thomas K and someone else noted, your RADIUS user entry must have a
Port-Limit = 2 (or higher) to allow MP.

Now what they missed are a few questions that you need to answer first.

1) which RADIUS are you running?
2) are you running something like tsmon (stock LRABU RADIUS does not limit
multiple connections) hm or cistron RADIUS?
3) what are your clients using to dial in with? Linux, FreeBSD, winXX,
winXX with DiamondMM Shotgun modems?
4) Analog or ISDN?
5) what modem or terminal adapter?

If it's ISDN and you're trying to bond the channels with MP, then most
likely it's a configuration on the client side. There are a few notes on
the list about some things that need to be done to get particular ISDN TAs
to work.

6) last, CT1 or PRI?

As per norm, having enough information goes a long way to trouble-shooting
what may be wrong.
