also, make sure the smark jack provided by the phone co. is properly
grounded. a grounded smart jack is 'NOT OPTIONAL' as most installers might
think. if the smart jack is not properly grounded, or your equipment is
not properly grounded, you will have fault voltage/current between the
smart jack and your PM3. even though the PM is supposed to optoisolated
(according to livingston tech support) it may cause problems (in my humble
opinion).
