What is "normal" considered? I checked 24 hours of stats for 1 of our
PM3's and saw this:
out of 582 Stop Records tested
"User Request - PPP Term Req" 76.63% 446/582
"User Request - Normal LAPM Disconnect" 3.26% 19/582
"User Request - Call Circuit Closed" 9.79% 57/582
"Port Error - Exceeded LAPM retransmission limit" 0.86% 5/582
"User Error - PPP NCP Active to Request" 1.03% 6/582
Idle Timeouts 7.38% 43/582
That adds up to 11.68% errors if my math is correct. I'm assuming "PPP
Term Req" is "normal"?
Again, this is just for 1 pm3 between 6am yesterday to 1am this morning.
Is there a script to produce these results, or did you write it yourself?
I'm good with perl, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel. :-)
If this only counts calls *after* authentication, I'd like to know if
there is a way to check for errors whether or not the call authenticates.
I'd say about 1/3 of our users say they can't connect on the first try...
and about 5% can't connect to the PM3's at all, and yet they connect just
fine to our old 33.6k analog Microcom ISPorte modems.
I'm running 3.8 now. I tried 3.8.2 and it was much much much worse.
