Not at all. The pmreadconf util from the old PMTools creates a binary image
of the PM's configuration. This image contains the password in clear text.
You can search that file for it.
ex:
[ tkinnen@sasami ] pmreadconf portmaster XXXXXXX config.bak
[ tkinnen@sasami ] vi config.bak
You still need !root access to the box to create the file so changing the
secret is still a better and faster way to go.
