I shouldn't have to use deception. One thing noticably absent from the
survey was a privacy statement, or even a checkbox to accept or decline
marketing e-mail. If Lucent wants accurate information on their survey,
I sdon't mind providing it. They make a good product, and I gave them
good marks on the survey.
But, it smells like a marketing gimmick to open the floodgates for spammage
of training/certification and extra-cost extended warranty offers. I'm
willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, and hope that they have the
clues not to spam. The lack of an opt-in or opt-out checkbox or privacy
statement, and the wording of some of the questions as a sales pitch for
add-on services raised my suspicions.
