(PM) Motorola SM56

I've checked the archives, and I find that several people have mentioned
this problem, but no one has reported a way of fixing it. My users with
Motorola sm56 PCI modems cannot connect to my Pm3. I'm working with a
user now who has upgraded to the very latest drivers from Motorola, and
we are running ComOS 3.82 on a PM3. I have managed to force the modem
to connect, but only at 26,400. The phone lines are not the problem,
because he can connect to America Online as well as other ISPs not
running Portmasters at speeds up to 38,666. Do I just need to tell him
to find another ISP, or is there some solution I've not found. I've
tried commas, no commas, flow control (on and off), etc. I usually
can't get to verifying Username and Password before getting
disconnected.

Thanks,
David
