No it's not only HCF modems... it wide spread across a full range of modems
including some USRobotics Sportsters. We are at an absolute loss as what to
do because there is no common factor.... sometimes if we swop the clients
old modem for a NEW Sportster is solves the problem but then we still have
clients with new Sportsters with the problem.
Switching off V.90 may well stop the problem but that's really not an option.
It appears to be a V.90 problem that surfaces when the phone line is not so
good... but this is still a guess.
We are eagerly awaiting the new ComOs in the hope that the problem is
solved. In every single case that we have followed up and we switch the
customer to our USR Total Control they have NO PROBLEM.
I am convinced that the PM3's and 4's modem code is sub standard compared
to Cisco and USR. And sheezzz I hope I'm wrong because I have a USR Total
Control with 60 modems and a brand new PM4 with 180 modems! :-(
