I can't speak for the other modems. But I am aware of some problems with
the HCF that may cause this type of problem that we are curently working
on.
Do you have PM3s or PM4s? If you only have PM4 you have older modem code
than 3.8.2c2. We will be releasing newer modem code for the PM4 (the same
as 3.8.2c2) very soon.
The newer code has some improvements that may help some of your USR/3Com
issues.
My suggestion of forcing Flex or V.90 wasn't a fix but a question to see
which protocol is default on the client modem. Some older Rockwell
codes prefer Flex over V.90. So by forcing the client into V.90 it will
connect better. In same cases V.90 doesn't work right, by forcing Flex we
can see if the problem is resolved. Then we know something is wrong with
V.90 and to work on it.
So, what happens when you force V.90 or Flex on HCF modems?
Thanks,
Josh Ebel
