Cardinal Init?

I need *the* PM init string for a Cardinal MVP288XF2 modem. I have
tested it using AT&F1&C1&D2&K3L0M0S0=1&W\r as suggested by someone, and it
works fine EXCEPT with 2 modems. USR Sportster 28.8 and 33.6 modems can't
seem to connect. I even tried it with a brand new one that I got the other
day just to make sure. I know that the Sporsters had some problems with
their code, but 2 different modems from 2 different retailers??? Who knows,
maybe they shipped all the bad ones to my region *shrug*
