While I wait for a call back from support (#T026308), I thought someone
else might have seen this.
We have about 2 dozen portmasters, and are trying to set up a new shell
machine running Solaris 5.5. If I telnet to any of the portmasters, I can
then log into the Solaris machine using rlogin. However, if a user
profile is set to use rlogin or pmd to connect to the machine, the
connection is closed immediately.
This happens with:
PM 2e-30s.
Radius authentication *and* portmaster user-table authentication
Rlogin *and* pmd but not telnet
Comos 3.3.1 *and* Comos 3.3.3
We tried installing in.pmd on another Solaris box, with identical results.
There is nothing special in any of the logs, radius accounting, etc.
in.pmd is started and stays alive, but the user connection is dropped
(Radacct says the reason is Host-Request) instantly after starting the
connection.
So, has anyone been successful in setting up a Solaris 5.5 box with
in.pmd? We got the latest release from ftp.livingston.com and installed
it carefully per directions.
Also, Asced Maxen can Rlogin users without difficulty.
So much for adding new customers to this machine starting an hour ago,
:-(.
