Connecting an Ascend Pipeline 56 to a PM2E

I need some help getting an Pipeline 50 ISDN router to connect and surf
through my PM2E / 5BRI box.
The trouble is that the Pipe can connect, but can't ping out of our network.
Another odd thing is that when the Pipeline pings, it doesn't get normal
results back - it returns the local loopback 127.0.0.0 , or the IP address
that it was given by the 2E.
I have a user created and assigned an IP address on my network. I did also
try setting this IP address on a different network.

The goal: To have the Pipeline on a .61.xx network with my local network
being 60.xx. The .61.xx network uses a 28 bit mask, so I could use any of
these addresses in the processes, if needed. The PM2E has an address of
.60.2 while my IRX router has an IP address of .60.1

Please tell me how the user should be created (what settings to use),
include necessary routes, and possibly, what the settings on the Pipeline are.

Thanks.

PS. Ascend support is terribly poor. I've got a call into livingston, so
hopefully I'll hear from them today.
