New code for PM-3 seems to have broken the modems??

We have upgraded the code to 3.5.c1 and all hell has broken loose. It
did fix the PPP problem with nescape dialer and spry dialer, but
disconects have become MUCH more frequent and MANY more folks are having
problems within seconds of log on...ie they get dropped. These same
folks are reporting that the analog lines into the USR Couriers are
working fine for them.......

We have employee's with dedicated accounts on this machine and it seems VERY
hard to maintain a connection for more that an hour or so with this
new code.....

I was dropped after about 15 mins at home ( I had been able to stay online
for 15-20 hours previously to the code upgrade this afternoon), and when I
called my office they stated they were having problems logging on with our
test box...........It did not seem to be a PRI problem as we did have
users that were on for over an hour at the same time. I would suspect
that a pri problem would have dumped everyone???

Lets take a look at what seems to be happening....

We ran the original code for 4 days and had about 8% of the customers
could connect, but NOT talk across the PPP link. Out of the other 92% they
only reported a few failure to connect and just a few drops. About 80-90%
were VERY impresssed with the new modems, prior to the software upgrade.

This new code fixed the problem were they connected, but could not do
ANYTHING.....about 8%.

Now it seems like many more of the testers have reported drops and failure to
connect without multiple trys and then some time with in the first 1-90
mins more users are reporting getting dropped, after installing 3.5c1.

*We only told the group that had a PPP problem* that the code was upgraded
and to check again and see if they could login and use the net. In the
group that reported the problem with PPP (good connect and we saw them on
the PM - but they were not able to talk) all that have tried so far
reported successful sessions with the new code...ie they did get logged in
and got onto the net, BUT the reports of disconnects and failure to
connect have gone WAY up from the rest of the users.....that did NOT have
a problem before (at least they didn't report one).....

I would like to go BACK to the old modem code and keep the new PPP code
(if this is posible - or is the PPP code tied to the modem code?)) and see
what happens....We did NOT seem to have a modem problem before the
switch to 3.5c1 with disco's and failure to connect at the rates we are
seeing now but did have the PPP problem with some dialers (8%).

It looks like the dialer problem (with some dialers...is it the PPP
software?) is fixed, but the actual modem code seems to be broken
now, or at least more folks are reporting problems with disco's and
failure to connect.....(and they did NOT know anything had changed)
