I agree with the "loading" theory.. and it has been all over this list,
but explained away by most as being a Windows 95 problem..
I have had a PM2 and IRX 114 combination up and running with 30 modems
since Feb. During the last 3 months we have grown to 48 modems here, 16
modems at another POP, 16 modems at another POP, and 34 modems at another
POP.. All the remote POPs are connected in via the 114 ... 1 T1 @ 224k,
and 2 56k's. The problem did not appear until I started seein 35-40 of the
local modems active. The remote POP's have no problem whatsoever... only
the main location...
I do not have the problem when the load is in the 25-30 range.. works just
great.. and I'm not positive that it is Portmaster problem, but it is
related and I am just looking for an answer or a way to see where the
problem is...
We have temporaily had each user that is having a problem to "bring up
terminal window after dialing" and then click continue when the see the
"login" prompt.. works every time.. no more problems.. but I do not like my
customer having to do the "one more click" so I have an open ticket at
Livingston with no answers..
And by the way MZ, I sent an Email to you will all the information, while I
was waiting on the phone for a tech, and I have not seen an acknowledgement
to it... I also need Melissa's email .. I guess I did not write down the
correct one when she gave it to me....
Thanks,
Ronnie Franklin
