I doubt he could have crossed any pins. Once this is done, would it hang
the PM indefinitely or should it revive itself when the condition went
away?
Ok, here is a little more info. Most of the ports exhibiting spurious
interrupts were those which he removed modems from.
Here are the syslog entries:
Dec 11 11:36:00 termserver2.bess.net error: port S3 spurious interrupts
Dec 11 11:36:58 termserver2.bess.net error: port S4 spurious interrupts
Dec 11 11:36:59 termserver2.bess.net error: port S5 spurious interrupts
Dec 11 11:37:00 termserver2.bess.net error: port S6 spurious interrupts
Dec 11 11:39:44 termserver2.bess.net error: port S14 spurious interrupts
Our monitoring system flagged a problem at 11:42 but it takes a bit to
escalate critical status, so I wouldn't trust the timing to within more
than 5 minutes or so.
Modems were removed from ports 1-6 and added to 10-14, so the only
possibility for a freaked out modem to cause this would be on port 14.
However, once I rebooted everything was fine (I didn't touch any of the
modems).
