small problem

ok we bought a new portmaster and it would not boot.
i called livingston and they IMMEDIATELY shipped me
a loaner, overnight, with pre-paid at my site pickup
of the bad one. you could not ask for better service.
i bow with gleeming gratitude for this feat.

now we have our portmasters set up so logins of
shell, download, and numbers require no passwds.
i can't get the loaner to do this at all. ok no biggy
we can deal with that. it's only the top 25% of our
modems that have the problem. after what they did i
could not see bitching about it. i figured i would get
my portmaster back eventually.

but after 2+ months still notta. so how do i get MY
portmaster back and/or whatta gotta do to make the
loaner do what the rest of mine do with the passwd-less
telnet to the shell server when user `shell' logs on?

i hate to bitch at you guys after the service i got.
i really could care less if i get the new shinny one
back, i just need consistency of login's across all
portmasters. any ideas for me to try? i mean besides
screaming and stamping my feet like a spoiled ISP brat,
who wants HIS toy back.
