Does this mean that, unlike the Ascend Max, the PM3 can be connected to
two different switches (as long as the switch type is the same) even if
they are in different telco CO's? I noted from some Ascend tech notes
that the Max derives it's internal bus clock off one of the sync ports
and thus cannot be used with circuits from two different COs due to
timing incompatibility / clock slip. With Interexchange carriers about
to offer us nifty services originating from switches that aren't
necessarily the piece of hardware living in the local CO, then the PM3
definitely has a great advantage in terms of flexibility over the Max
in that regard.
Guess it wouldn't matter too much if we were forever going to be
buying all services from the local RBOC, but the world is changing
