The customer's indication is *instantaneous* at time of connection. And
so is the Couriers (You can get end of call stats with AT I6 on
disconnection for the USR). Not so with the PM-3, it shows while
connected. And your printout shows one renegotiation (up, I presume).
Also, the PM-3 cannot do 33600 in both directions, you've got the PM-3
maxed out, what more could the customer want? You need to explain to Mr.
Customer that even if his modem reports 24K or 26.4K, it may (and often
does) train up to 28.8K or 33.6K, and even if it shows a connect at 33.6K
it could train DOWN to 21.6K without his knowledge as his modem and
software are incapable of displaying bps rate throughout the call. The
connection is dynamic and could train up or down. Your customer is
EXTREMELY lucky, in several telco service areas, he would be fortunate to
achieve a consistent 28.8 connect.
