I'm new at this and still ignorant in many things so please bear with me.
I loaded the 2.0 and started it up. I put in a test user, made sure they
had a good UNIX login and set the Prefix to P. The login was set to xxxx
in UNIX and Pxxxx in the RADUS users file.
If I tried logging in for a shell session (without the P) it asked for
my login id, aceppted it, asked for my password, asked for my password
again, and then completed the login.
When I tried loggin in for a PPP session (with the P) the server refused
to validate Pxxxx as a valid user and terminated the connection.
I've tried several combinations as shown in the manual to no avail.
Something else happened that is really strange and I can't see how it is
related but I'll throw it out anyway. Last week, I had my CT-1s upgraded
from D4, AMI, loop start, line side junk to: ESF, B8ZS, wink start trunk
side with DID termination. I believe they are outpulsing me 2 digits but
I am not certain. For the last several days (until this evening) they
have worked flawlessly and have perfomred better than I expected. This
evening I notice that whenever I try to make a call (to run more test on
P) the following happens:
The modem makes the call, the PM-3 modem answers, they handshake, sound
like they are going to connect and then I get a yellow alarm from the
central office. Now any call that I try to make no matter how it is set
up (even via logins that were previously working with RADIUS 1.whatever
itwas) refuse to authenticate.
I set debug on the console and as far as I can tell the only data passing
back and forth is zeros.
Any help, criticism (severe or otherwise) will be appreciated.
And yes, I have opened a trouble ticket with the telco.
