Bill,
Thanks for the info and help.
No, I haven't worked on the address problem again, as I
was working on
getting the 2nd PM3 going for our PRI.
We then ran into another snag, and Livingston is doing a
tech note on it,
(why me?)...
Well, Our PM3 came with chassis and modem cards
separate. I set everything
put as normal, hooked up a term session to set it, and
got a repeating
screen of something like
int_system=0x4
Called up Livingston, and they said they had no idea,
call it DOA and they
would replace it. I asked if I could try working on it
first, as we really
had a dead line.
We started in, and had no luck. The tech wanted me to
do a netboot, so he
had me download a tftp server. While it was
downloading, I remembered on
the list about the new shipped modems having a different
chipset and
requiring the 3.8.2 COS. I asked the tech, and we
proceeded to unset the
modem cards and reboot. Sure enough, without the cards
docked, the system
prompt came up. We then decided to upgrade to 3.8.2 and
reboot with the
cards in, voila OK.
So.. it turns out that the PM3 chassis with the generic
OS on it cannot
handle the new chipset modem cards (1575 verses 1574 I
think). The system
goes into shock. Livingston did not even know, and they
are following up on
this.
Now, Bell can bring up the channel to test the PRI and I
will work on the
address problem....
