other I think)--I'm not really clear on it. There's been a lot of
discussion about this on the list, so check the archives if you want to
know more. The point is that with the setup you have now, you simply
can't do 56k.
With your current setup, you should be able to get speeds up to 33,600
max. If you're not getting those speeds, it may be a line quality
issue.
