That is normal. The default gateway is the next hop to send the
packets to. It should not, on the Windows 98 box, be the IP of your
border router. On the PM it should be though.

Yes. If you don't give each of the pool IP's a in-addr.arpa entry
then customers won't be able to access some IRC servers, some FTP
servers and probably other things.
The reported IP would be used if you had multiple PM's and wanted them
to all appear as though they had the same IP for dialup connections.
I think that this would be primarily used if you had customers dialing
in with routers that needed to know the IP of your end. With only one
PM this option isn't needed.
