Once upon a time Christian Schmit shaped the electrons to say...
>Is it possible that there can be new features
>in the modem code for the pm3 that will only
>be supported with the new DSPs' ?

Possibly, but near as I can tell doing some extensive searching on the
Lucent website, the 1675 is a direct evolution of the Venus DSP1675 and not
a departure. Seems like just a brush up - DSP technology evolves rapidly.

The new big gun is the 16000 series, which I believe is in development for
the next-generation modem cards in the PM-4. If I understand what I've
read well enough, they can do 3-4 modems per DSP and have onboard memory
instead of requiring external RAM chips.
